Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Gorge.
We will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Marrakech and begin our journey towards the southern part of Morocco.
As we pass through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), you will see some of the most beautiful mountain roads and visit Berber villages along the way.
Our first stop is the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most famous places used in movies.
After exploring the old village and having lunch, we continue our trip to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.”
We will take a short break at the Atlas Film Studios and visit Taourirt Kasbah before heading through the Roses Valley to reach the Dades Valley.
We’ll have dinner and spend the night in a cozy local riad or hotel there.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorges – Camel Trekking – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, we head along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs towards Todra Gorge, a beautiful canyon with tall cliffs that go up to 300 meters.
You’ll have time to walk through the gorge, take some photos, or just relax in the quiet and peaceful place.
After lunch, we drive through Tinjdad and Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga, where your camel group is already waiting.
You’ll ride your camel across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and stop to watch the sunset over the desert.
We’ll reach your luxurious desert camp, where you’ll be greeted with a cup of Moroccan tea.
Enjoy dinner under the stars, and then listen to traditional Berber music and drumming around a fire , a wonderful way to end your day in the Sahara!
Day 3:Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi
You wake up early to see the sunrise over the sand dunes, which is one of the most special parts of the journey.
After having breakfast, you go back to Merzouga and start exploring the desert.
You’ll visit Khamlia Village, a place where people have strong African traditions.
There, you can listen to their Gnawa music and drink some tea. Then you’ll go off-road to check out old mines in Mefis, meet some nomadic families, and find out about their quiet, simple way of living.
In the evening, you’ll return to your desert hotel for dinner and have time to relax or enjoy another stunning sunset over the dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests and monkey troupes of Azrou – Fes
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the desert and begin our journey north towards Fes.
On the way, we pass through the Ziz Valley, which is known for its green palm trees, and we stop to enjoy some amazing views.
We have lunch in Midelt and then continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you might see some Barbary monkeys.
Our next stop is Ifrane, often called “the Moroccan Switzerland” because of its clean streets and homes that look like they’re from the Alps.
In the evening, we arrive in Fes and drop you off at your hotel or airport , ending your fantastic desert adventure with Terrific Morocco Tours.
