Itinerary:
Day 1 :Ouarzazate – Rose valley – Todra gorges – Ziz valley – Merzouga
In the morning, we set off on our adventure, traveling to the Todra Gorges. We journey down the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping along the route to take in the breathtaking scenery as we pass through the Rose Valley, the Boumalne Dades Valley, the oasis of Skoura, and more. We reach the Todra Gorges by late morning, where we have lunch and go for a stroll. After driving via Erfoud, Tafilalet Valley, and Ziz Valley, we continue on our way to the golden dunes of Merzouga, where we will find an off-road track. We meet our camel guides here and begin the two-hour hike to the 250-meter-tall Erg Chebbi dunes. After settling into our desert tent, we have free time to explore the dunes, unwind, or just take in the peace and quiet. We assemble around the fire for dinner and spend the night in authentic Berber tents after witnessing the fabled sunset from the top of the dunes.
Day 2:Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif– Ouarzazate
We get up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, and then we drive through the vast palm groves of Tafilalet, stopping at Rissani, the former Alaouite capital of Sultan Moulay Ali Cherif, and then on through Alnif and Tazarine, passing through the picturesque palm oasis of N’kob. We then travel along the Draa Valley, with its quaint Berber villages, stopping for lunch along the way, and then we visit the historic Kasbah of Tamnougalt, which was once home to the Pacha Glaoui. By late afternoon, we return to Ouarzazate, where we drop you off at your hotel and say goodbye.
